LIDL set ambitious goals for their new distribution center in Moerdijk. The core challenge was to implement a completely CO2-neutral cooling solution that is scalable for the enormous volumes of a modern logistics hub.
The installation not only had to meet the strictest environmental requirements but also provide unparalleled reliability to ensure the fresh produce chain operates 24/7 within an area of over 40,000 square meters.
Nijssen implemented an advanced central cooling system based on the natural refrigerant CO2 (R744). This system utilizes innovative ejector technology to optimize efficiency at high ambient temperatures.
Energy Masterpiece
"All residual heat from the cooling system is reused for the underfloor heating in the offices and the defrosting of the coolers, making the building entirely gas-free."

With Nijssen's expertise, we have established a logistics center that not only delivers top performance today but also sets the standard for sustainable logistics in the future.
