Nijssen provided BVB Substrates with two phytotrons and a semi-closed greenhouse in the newly constructed research facility in De Lier. The substrate supplier is reacting to the rapid rise of city farming.

When driving on the A20 towards Hoek van Holland, it almost looks as if the new Schmidt Zeevis building is sailing along. Nijssen realized the energy-efficient and environmentally friendly refrigeration freeze installation.

For VerDi Import in Barendrecht, Nijssen realized a new cooling installation with expansions to replace the old R22 installation. In the design, a great number of energy-saving measures were incorporated.

At the Jealott’s Hill International Research Centre UK in Bracknell (Berkshire) Nijssen has delivered six climate rooms. Comprehensive tests during commissioning showed the installation meets the extensive demands of Syngenta on all fronts.

Nijssen realized 32 climate rooms for breeding company Enza Zaden in their new research facilities in Enkhuizen. For the new greenhouse complexes in this extensive expansion program we realized 22 climate rooms and 2 steam cells.

Nijssen Koeling has extended its control system with a module for managing Controlled Atmosphere (CA)- and Dynamic Controlled Atmosphere (DCA) storage. This new module was taken into use by Fruitmasters for 57 newly built and renovated cold stores in two depots in Geldermalsen.

Nijssen have recently supplied two Filacell units for installation into the existing cooling facilities at Goossens Flevoplant. The Filacell air handling units are used to quickly cool down the wooden containers in which the strawberry plants are delivered, by means of a forced air system with a high humidity.

An expansion with six ripening chambers for exotic products provided an excellent opportunity to replace the existing refrigeration systems. Nijssen developed an innovative, energy-efficient cascade system relying on natural refrigerants.

Nijssen have realised a combined cooling/freezing installation with the maximum amount of BREEAM credits for Kloosterboer Cool Port in Rotterdam. The immense cooling and freezing house, which was officially opened in September, has a storage capacity of 40,000 pallets.

With the new energy efficient and environmentally friendly ammonia cooling/freezing installation for three terminals on the Denemarkenweg Kloosterboer is taking another green step on the road to sustainable conditioned storage.

By expanding its activities, Kloosterboer has enlarged its Maasvlakte freezer facility with approximately 8,500 m2 of storage space. Nijssen realised an extension of the current ammonia/CO₂ freezing system.

For Ter Beke subsidiary Berkhout Langeveld, Nijssen realised an environmentally friendly ammonia/CO₂ installation.
