Schmidt Zeevis: striking new building
When driving on the A20 towards Hoek van Holland, it almost looks as if the new Schmidt Zeevis building is sailing along. Nijssen realized the energy-efficient and environmentally friendly refrigeration freeze installation.
The NH3-CO2 cascade cooling-freeze conditioner operates twenty cooled processing rooms at 2 ° C, including a special lobster cell, and two freezer cells with a temperature down to -25 ° C. The design facilitaties a further expansion of the capacity with an additional screw compressor. When conditioning the processing rooms, the comfort of the staff was taken into account. Nijssen also installed three flake ice machines.
The installation is controlled by the in-house developed Coolmaster operating system with user-friendly visualization. Control is done via a special control computer and via a touchscreen on the work floor. Because of the seawater present, it is made of stainless steel.
In the new building with 8,000 m2 of floor space Schmidt Zeevis brought the fish shop, processing and storage under one roof. The ground floor houses the fish shop and lots of conditioned rooms. The cold store is housed in the rear part of the 'ship'.
Schmidt Zeevis sells 133 types of fish and takes most of the revenue from the supply to hundreds of restaurants and hotels throughout the Netherlands, to sea cruise ships and superyachts and from export.
