For HZPC, Nijssen converted two cold stores into phytotrons for research. The phytotrons are used for research into plant-pathogen interactions and for plant physiological research on potatoes.

For the R&D Technology Center of Syngenta in Enkhuizen, Nijssen realized 34 climate chambers, 2 cooled greenhouses and 3 cooled storage rooms. The new center for research and breeding is part of a multi-year investment program from Syngenta.
Sandwiched between houses, a road and a soccer field, Luiten Food in Stompwijk has to handle every square meter efficiently.
For the IRS Foundation in Dinteloord, Nijssen realized three climate chambers and a freezer room. IRS is the knowledge and research center for beet cultivation. In the new Beetlab IRS is conducting research into plant diseases in sugar beet and chicory. Controlling diseases and pests is one of the biggest challenges for the beet sector.
The new Florensis building in Dinteloord comprises a greenhouse complex, a production hall and office space. Nijssen realized a number of cold rooms and climate rooms in the production hall and a central refrigeration system to condition these facilities.
For ZoBio, one of our neighbours at Leiden Bio Science Park, Nijssen realised a conditioned testing facility. With a wide range in temperature and humidity, the walk-in climate chamber offers ZoBio flexibility in its biophysical and drug development research services, e.g. protein crystallography.
For Limagrain Netherlands, Nijssen realized two phytotrons and a vernalization cell in Rilland. Previously, Nijssen realized various climate chambers for Limagrain Netherlands.
For the new Lidl distribution center, Nijssen realized the energy-efficient refrigeration and freezing system based on natural refrigerants. With this, Nijssen makes an important contribution to the sustainable character of this new Lidl distribution center in Moerdijk.
For BASF Vegetable Seeds in Nunhem, Nijssen realized 14 high-tech climate rooms and 2 seed storage rooms. Sustainability and energy efficiency are also paramount in this project. That is why Nijssen conditions the rooms with a smartly designed industrial NH3 / water installation with heat recovery.
Nijssen created a conditioned test room for Yara Sluiskil. The producer tests existing and new types of mineral fertilizers here under different, extreme climate conditions.
For Van Oers United B.V.’s new shipping and processing centre in Dinteloord, Nijssen realised a low-energy and environmentally friendly cooling installation based on the natural coolants ammonia and CO2.
Nijssen provided BVB Substrates with two phytotrons and a semi-closed greenhouse in the newly constructed research facility in De Lier. The substrate supplier is reacting to the rapid rise of city farming.
